Diamond testers distinguish fake diamonds from real diamonds using thermal or electrical conductivity. As lab grown diamonds have exactly the same properties as earth-mined diamonds and conduct heat & electricity in the same way, a diamond tester will show lab grown diamonds as real, natural diamonds.
